Everyone needs a good lip balm in the colder weather to keep their lips protected from the harsh conditions and the drying effects of central heating. I wear my lip balms every single day to make sure my lips are soft and smooth and to avoid horrible flaking and cracking.
Many of you will already know about lip saviours Hurraw! Balms, but for those of you who don't, they are an organic lip care company who use organic, wildcrafted and raw ingredients that are so clean and so good for you that after one use you will be hooked. I recently purchased their tinted lip balm in Black Cherry, which I thought would be perfect for adding a flush of colour to my lips without the need to apply lipstick or lipgloss.
Ingredients:
Alkanna tinctoria (alkanet) infused Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil)*, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax***, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil)**, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter**, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil*, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Organic Flavours, Tocopherols (Sunflower)
*Cold pressed/ Organic
** Raw & Organic
*** Wildcrafted
A heavenly list of ingredients that are so nourishing and moisturising for your lips. The black cherries they use to flavour the balm are harvested from the orchards of Montana's Flat Head Lake, and the alkanet-infused sweet almond oil gives it the rich, deep pigment.
Fair Trade, Certified Vegan and CCIC Approved (Cruelty Free)
The Balm:
It's no surprise that this balm is magic for your lips. It has an incredibly smooth application, with no waxy finish and just a subtle sheen of colour. On your lips it has a soft, silky texture and feels so moisturising. The pigmentation is surprisingly strong for such an organic and natural product, and it smells absolutely delicious. It's frustrating that I can't explain to you just how good this smells, it makes me want to stick it under the nose of everyone I'm with and shout "Here, how good does this smell?!" until they nod politely and back away slowly. The tint to the balm is enough to add a 'just-kissed' flush to your lips, enhancing your natural lip colour and adding a perfect finish to a casual or day time look. My only criticism of the product would be that it takes a couple of applications for my lips to really feel smooth and soft, although this might just be because my lips get especially dry in the cold weather. Still, the balm absorbs beautifully into your lips, healing and nourishing them from the inside out.
The Packaging:
The Black Cherry lip balm comes in a fun, traditional lip balm tube, with an oval applicator and a twist up stick. The perfect size for popping in your handbag, this works great in a tube because you won't get the tint on your fingers!
The Price: £3.99
For the quality of the ingredients and the performance of the product, Hurraw! lip balms are a steal. They are cheaper than many conventional mainstream brands who use cheaper, synthesised chemicals, and I just wish these were available at Boots or Superdrug so I could grab as many as I want and try the different flavours.
Do you have a favourite Hurraw! lip balm? I'm really intrigued by the Ayurveda balms they have, as well as the night time treatment and the sun protection one with SPF 15. It won't be long before I'm picking up another one of these :)

ReplyDeleteI love this balm. Great colour too :)
ReplyDeleteHuuraw balms are one of my faves! I currently have black cherry and have had the spf one which I lost...twice (both tubes lol). My boyfriend had vanilla chai and loved it. Great post lovely xo
ReplyDeleteAnything from Hurraw draws me in haha, and this sounds so tempting! The scent sounds delicious - I have the chocolate and vanilla bean ones and practically want to eat them when I apply them the smell is so good. If I hadn't just ordered an EOS lip balm I probably would head on over and buy this as I've been looking for a tinted balm, but I think I'll hold myself back for now. I definitely recommend the one with SPF - I used it last year and it worked perfectly, just unfortunately lost it! xx
ReplyDeleteI still haven't managed to try one of these I'm still hooked on Crazy Rumors, I have the cherry one but it's not tinted :-)
ReplyDeleteDank der Rooibos-Creme von Bio Allgäu sieht meine Haut erfrischt und belebt aus.
