Review | Vapour Organics Illusionist Concealer

Tuesday, August 5

I'd been wanting to try this concealer from Vapour Organics for a long time, so I was beyond happy when the beautiful Katie from Katie Vibes offered to send me one she received in a goody bag from the Field Trip Tour. A bright, illuminating concealer, it's 100% natural and made with 70% certified organic ingredients.

The Concealer

Creamy and light, this concealer is a dream to blend. It's formulated with anti-inflammatory Frankincense, anti-oxidant Tulsi extract and calming Lotus extract, leaving a subtle glow to your skin without feeling heavy or cakey. It feels nourishing, as though you're putting goodness into your skin as well as covering blemishes, which isn't surprising with a base of sunflower oil and castor seed oil. The coverage is medium/ light, with a surprisingly illuminating finish which works wonders as a highlight, especially around the eye area. I prefer using mine to help cover under eye circles, as I don't find it has enough coverage to really cover blemishes or spots. Perhaps this is because the shade I'm using is too light, and a darker shade would do this better. I'd love to try a darker shade and see how the two compare! Either way, the formulation and pigmentation of this concealer are really beautiful and it's one that I love using as it sits on my skin so well.

Have you tried this in a shade more suited to your skin tone? And have you tried anything else from Vapour?

Vapour Illusionist Concealer retails at £22.

    1. It's funny because I had a sample of this exact shade and I didn't like it at all, but since using the full size I actually really like it. Strange! x

  2. I really like how highlighting this concealer is...I wish I could mix together RMS Un Coverup & this as I don't find it covers my dark circles enough but RMS does but then its matte....haha oh the struggles!

    1. Yes! I feel the same about the Studio 78 concealer. I think it means we're still on the hunt for the *perfect* natural concealer :) x

    2. I actually mix RMS and Vapour under my eyes when I need extra coverage - works a treat! RMS underneath and then the Vapour on top ;)

Vapour is definitely my favourite though. SOOOO nice of Katie to give hers to you!

  3. I liked this concealer a lot! When I finished it, I went ahead and tried the RMS un-cover up. Both performed comparably, but I prefer the RMS simply because it's so much more product! I use it the same amount as the vapour and have barely made a dent in it.

    1. Yeah, being in a stick form means you don't get much for your money. I'm also using the Studio 78 concealer which is in a pot like the RMS, and that one isn't going anywhere fast :)
