Review | Acure Moroccan Argan Stem Cell + Argan Oil Hair Duo

Wednesday, August 6

It's been pretty difficult trying to find an organic shampoo & conditioner that cleans my hair without leaving it feeling heavy or greasy. I recently took this duo from Acure Organics on holiday with me to California, and I completely fell in love. Never has my hair looked or felt healthier...

The Shampoo

This foams surprisingly well for such a natural product. The consistency is nice and thick and after I rinse it off it feels like my hair has been thoroughly cleansed. If my hair has been particularly greasy I'll double wash it, but I can get away with just one rinse of this shampoo. Other natural shampoos I've tried have felt like they are doing nothing to my hair, but instead this Acure shampoo really gives you that familiar clean feeling, without having to massage toxic chemicals into your scalp!

The Conditioner

This does everything a conditioner should. It feels luxurious and thick, leaving your hair feeling incredibly soft and smooth without weighing it down. I leave this on for a minute or so and as soon as I rinse it off my hair feels amazing. Unlike conventional conditioners, this is made without petro-chemicals, meaning all the conditioning agents are actually penetrating the hair shafts rather than just coating them, repairing and moisturising your hair from the inside out.

The Acure Shampoo & Conditioner are designed for Normal to Dry/Damaged/Curly hair. My hair is very thick, coarse, curly and damaged, and can take a lot of product and moisture before it gets weighed down. (If you have fine hair, you may find this a bit too heavy as it is very rich and moisturising.) After using this for a while I noticed a significant reduction in hair breakage, and my hair became shinier and smoother without the need for excess styling products. They work as well as some high end shampoos and conditioners I've tried, but these are only around £5 each and are such incredible value for money. I am a complete convert to Acure hair products, and while part of me wants to try what else they have on offer, the other part of me can't bear to not use these! I would also mention they smell of almonds/marzipan - which I absolutely love :)

Have you tried any other Acure shampoos and conditioners? What do you think of them?

Acure Moroccan Argan Stem Cell + Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner retail at approx £7 each

  1. Acure gets a lot of praise in the green world! I didn't realise that they were so affordable. I've just checked out Nature's Vale and you can buy them for £7.31 each. I'm not sure how that works in comparison to iHerb's delivery costs to the UK? Probably works out about the same. Anyway, lovely review and its good to know how they worked for you! x

    1. Thank you so much for that tip! I was struggling to find them in the UK so that's so good to know, yeah the price is very similar if not cheaper compared to shipping from iHerb! Thanks :) x

  2. Everyone loves this haircare range but I'm not sure whether to give it a go because I have fine hair, I also adore my current routine & nothing seems to match it

    1. They have other products which are tailored to fine hair :) but if you're current routine is working great for you then there's no need to change it!

  4. I loved this conditioner!! It seems we have similar hair issues/textures so I'm not surprised. I know the smell seems to be a turn off for people, but I loved it!!

  5. I really need to give this brand a go. I just bought a travel size pack of Swell to see how I fare with that but if my hair protests I shall have to look into Acure. I don't have damaged hair, just a lot of it (though it looks fine) and it gets very oily quickly...do you think it would work for me? I've also looked at their Lemongrass one for my hair type...just unsure which to get! xx

    1. Well I've only tried this line of theirs, but it's worked wonders for me. I'm tempted to try out some of their other lines just to see how they compare so I would definitely give them a go! They're such good value for money and the ingredients are amazing :) xx
