Review | Green People Eye Pencil in City Grey

Friday, August 15

I'm a big fan of eye pencils, they are such versatile things! They add a subtle definition for a cool day time look, and can be built up to produce a dramatic evening look without the need for liquid eyeliner. For what seems like forever, I've been using an old Neal's Yard Remedies eye pencil and never thought to replace it. When Green People kindly sent me their Pencil Eyeliner in City Grey, that quickly changed...

The Eye Pencil

Similar to their beautiful eye shadow duo (review here), the consistency of this eye pencil is buttery and creamy, gliding smoothly onto the eye without dragging and making it perfect for smudging and blending out. I find it ideal for lining my waterline, and it's incredibly pigmented with a great colour pay off. The eye liner is just off-black, which I didn't think I'd like - but I am now 100% converted to. It gives a real sexy, sultry look without compromising on drama. I now find black looks too harsh and defined compared to this (unless you really work to soften it, in which case you're trying to make it this colour!). It's only a subtle difference, but one that you can immediately see. It just makes a smokey eye or any make up look that much easier to work with and gives it the finishing touch. Not to mention the staying power is great, lasting all day or all night with only a little smudging towards the end, after 6 hours wear or so.

I truly didn't think I would love this as much as I do, and would recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone who is after a natural eye pencil. It contains vitamins C and E, as well as jojoba oil and shea butter to condition and nourish the eye area.

Have you tried this eye pencil? Green People are really killing it at the moment with make up and I can't wait to try more :)

  2. I'm the same as you and Amber, been using the NYR grey for about a year but find it drags too much. Would love to give this one a try! x
