Review | Trilogy Organic Rosehip Oil

Friday, May 9

The benefits of rosehip oil are no secret and the worst kept secret of all is the Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil. This recently won best Face Oil in the Natural Health Beauty Awards 2014 and after using it for a few months, it's easy to see why.

Ingredients

Certified Organic Rosa Canina (rosehip) seed oil

The Oil

Rosehip oil is renowned for it's restorative and regenerative properties, helping to reduce inflammation and scarring on the skin. It was used by the Egyptians, Native Americans and The Mayans for it's healing powers, and is full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories to soothe and repair your skin on a deep level. It's a lightweight oil, much lighter than jojoba seed oil and avocado oil, and absorbs easily into your skin without leaving an oily residue. I use this every night after cleansing and I don't use a moisturiser at all! It leaves my skin feeling radiant in the morning, as well as healthy, plump and perfectly hydrated. I have oily/combination skin and find a simple skin care routine works best for me. It does't get more simple than pure rosehip oil, and my skin has never felt better.

Despite having oily/combination I love using only oils in my cleansing and moisturising routine, and I don't use any creams at all. As our skin produces it's own oil, I love replenishing it with nature's own alternatives, with no need for processing or excess ingredients.

Do you like cleansing and moisturising with oils? Are there any other oils that you swear by? I'd really love to try Balm Balm's Organic Frankincense Oil and Pai's Rosehip Bioregenerative Oil.

  3. Trilogy was my first facial oil! I was having a bad breakout and decided to try this out since rosehip is known for its healing properties. It helped fade scars quicker but I found that if I use too much, it broke me out instead. I've since swapped this away.

    1. Oils can be amazing but if you get one that doesn't agree with your skin, you soon know about it! I struggle with avocado oil, but thankfully rosehip is one my skin is very happy with x

  4. I just ordered the Pai Rosehip oil because I had a coupon code and can't wait to try it out. I previously used the Primavera Neroli Cassis face oil and I am in love with it but I need something lighter for summer. During the winter it's my best friend really!

  5. Love the benefits of rosehip but, like Ru Chan, if I use too much it breaks me out. I swear by tamanu, sea buckthorn, and Corpa Flora Eclat Citrouille xo

  6. Sounds lovely and I really like how it's just a pure oil on it's own - at the moment I have a sample of Pai's version which I love, so I can imagine how nice this makes your skin feel :) I love using oils in general, especially cleansing oils during winter x
