Review | Green People Eye Shadow Duo in 'Night Forest'

Monday, May 12

I love mineral make up, I really do. But I get increasingly frustrated with loose mineral eyeshadows, blushes and bronzers. It's messy and awkward to work with them regularly, and I much prefer the ease and colour pay off from pressed powders, particularly eye shadows. Trying to find a high quality, organic pressed eyeshadow has proven to be a difficult task, but one that was hugely rewarded when I decided to purchase the Green People Eye Shadow Duo in Night Forest.

The Eyeshadows

This eyeshadow duo is everything I look for in a make up product, and is 100% natural with no talc, parabens, mineral oils or carmine. I have fallen truly in love with this duo and think it's the green beauty world's answer to Urban Decay eye shadows. The duo includes two colours, Owl Taupe & Mink Brown. Owl Taupe is the lighter colour, a warm golden beige which is the perfect all over colour for your eyelids. It immediately adds depth to your eyes and looks beautiful both on it's own or as a base. Mink Brown is the darker shade, a rich brown which is perfect for a smokey eye or for adding depth. I normally prefer matte shadows, but these have a subtle shimmer in the pan. It's not noticeable, and once on your eyes and blended they look more like matte shadows. The pigmentation is beautiful, and they are incredibly soft and blendable, making them really easy to work with. The consistency reminds me of the Urban Decay eye shadows, with an almost creamy feel to the powders. The duo is in a small compact that is perfect for travelling as it takes up so little room. These are by far my favourite organic eye shadow that I've tried, and for ingredients and the quality of the product, I don't think you can get better than this.

My only wish is that they had a greater range of shades. I would love to see a palette similar to the Naked palettes as these shadows really rival Urban Decay for pigmentation, texture and staying power. I wear this duo on a daily basis and really hope Green People come out with some more colours to try.

The Price - £15.95 - £17.50

I purchased mine from Naturisimo who stock the eyeshadow for £15.95 and offer free worldwide delivery. You can purchase it from Green People themselves for £17.50. Green People remain one of my favourite organic brands for their ethics and the quality of their products. I always trust that they will deliver something that not only works, but that has one of the best ingredient lists. For approximately £8 per eye shadow, I think these are a steal. Incredible ingredients, incredible ethics and and an incredible product.

Have you tried any other shadows or make up products from Green People? Are there any on your wish list?

  4. Owl taupe looks like Too Faced's Honeymoon, a shadow I like but with bad ingredients... But you describe it as a golden beige, is it leaning more toward a gold or a true beige?
The duo seems really nice, perfect for travel! ^^

    1. It leans more towards a gold than a true beige, as it's quite warm and has a subtle sheen to it. Yes it's amazing for travel, so handy :)
