Review | Spiezia Rose & Vanilla Face Oil

Thursday, August 28

Some of you have been asking about the face oil I used in my latest Pamper Night video, so this is it. I was lucky enough to be asked by Spiezia if I'd like to try a couple of their products, and I jumped at the chance. They are one of my favourite organic brands for both their wonderful ethics and amazing ingredients, and one of my picks was their Rose & Vanilla Face Oil.

Smokey Eye Look | Organic & Natural Products

Sunday, August 17

In a recent video I spoke about the make up I take with me when travelling or on-the-go - my most basic and essential items. I created this little smokey eye look using only these products, showing how a stripped down make up kit doesn't have to be boring! [Excuse the wild brows, they're in need of a tweeze or two ;) ] Most of these products you will have already seen featured on my blog; I use them daily and love them all.

Review | Green People Eye Pencil in City Grey

Friday, August 15

I'm a big fan of eye pencils, they are such versatile things! They add a subtle definition for a cool day time look, and can be built up to produce a dramatic evening look without the need for liquid eyeliner. For what seems like forever, I've been using an old Neal's Yard Remedies eye pencil and never thought to replace it. When Green People kindly sent me their Pencil Eyeliner in City Grey, that quickly changed...

Review | Living Nature Hydrating Gel Mask

Monday, August 11

I first picked up this face mask for a long haul flight back in June. I needed something that I could easily wipe off with a damp cotton pad, but also something that was hydrating enough to protect my skin from the brutal air conditioning. This claimed to 'instantly revitalise dull or dehydrated skin' - it sounded exactly what I needed.

Review | Spiezia Organic Facial Cleanser

Sunday, August 10

Spiezia are an incredible organic skin care brand that I don't hear enough about. They are committed to creating beautiful, sustainable beauty products that are good for both our skin and the planet. This cleansing balm is one of my favourites, being 100% organic and made from a blend of nourishing and exotic oils and flower extracts. Nothing harsh or toxic is used, and it leaves the skin feeling so refreshed, clear and healthy. I featured this in my first youtube video back in February, but I think it's time for it's own spotlight...

Natural Nail Polish Remover | Priti NYC vs Fresh Therapies

Friday, August 8

Two of the most talked about natural nail polishes are those by American company Priti NYC and British company Fresh Therapies. Neither of these are cheap options (yet), but they both offer a relief from the noxious fumes of conventional nail polish removers. I have tried both of these, and wanted to share my thoughts on how the two compare...

Toxic Thursday: Phthalates

Thursday, August 7

What are Phthalates (and how the hell do you pronounce it?!)

Phthalates (thah-lates) are a chemical compound which act as a plastic softener, preventing it from becoming brittle. They are used in almost anything plastic including toys, furniture, car seats, flooring etc. They are also used extensively in cosmetic and medical products, helping to stabilise fragrance and helping lotions to absorb into the skin. They are found in almost all cosmetic products, including deodorants, hair sprays, moisturisers, lotions, foundations etc.

Review | Acure Moroccan Argan Stem Cell + Argan Oil Hair Duo

It's been pretty difficult trying to find an organic shampoo & conditioner that cleans my hair without leaving it feeling heavy or greasy. I recently took this duo from Acure Organics on holiday with me to California, and I completely fell in love. Never has my hair looked or felt healthier...

Review | Vapour Organics Illusionist Concealer

Tuesday, August 5

I'd been wanting to try this concealer from Vapour Organics for a long time, so I was beyond happy when the beautiful Katie from Katie Vibes offered to send me one she received in a goody bag from the Field Trip Tour. A bright, illuminating concealer, it's 100% natural and made with 70% certified organic ingredients.

Trying to find an organic mascara that lengthens, defines and volumises is not an easy task - it's not even an easy task with conventional mascaras! Kjaer Weis are a luxury brand when it comes to organic beauty, and you get what you pay for when it comes to ingredients and performance.

Review | Pai Camellia & Rose Hydrating Cleanser

Saturday, August 2

I have been a fan of the Pai Camellia & Rose Cleanser for a long time, but my loyalty to Balm Balm's Frankincense Balm has left this one a little neglected. I've recently picked it up again, and can see why it's loved by so many people, including those who don't use just natural products.

Review | Schmidt's Natural Deodorant

Let me tell you a secret. I never use deodorant. Or anti perspirant. It's just never really bothered me, I've always felt if I got too smelly then I'd just shower, and I can only smell my sweat if I literally lift up my arm and smell my armpit. I've probably had too many polite people around me to tell me otherwise, and I also hate using aerosols, which has played a huge part in me avoiding spray deodorant. So deodorant has never been a part of my daily routine. This is, of course, until I finally got my hand on a pot of Schmidt's Natural Deodorant in this month's Petit Vour box...
