Review | Suti Facial Cleansing Balm

Friday, May 2

I first mentioned Suti's Cleansing Balm in my Top 5 Organic Cleansing Balms video, but I thought it needed it's own review. Suti are one of my favourite organic skin care brands, and I love their holistic and spiritual approach to creating their products, using crystals, moon phases and reiki to infuse subtle energy to their creations. All their formulations are 100% natural, certified organic by the soil association and are handcrafted in the UK.

The Cleansing Balm

This is a luxurious cleansing balm, with granules of shea butter which melt on contact with your skin. Sometimes I have to really massage them in to get them to melt, but this is because Suti use unrefined shea butter which has a tendency to granulate, so I don't mind. The balm smells amazing, which is probably due to the lime essential oil - one of my absolute favourites due to it's uplifting and invigorating scent. On application the balm melts into a rich oil which easily removes make up and leaves your skin feeling plump, hydrated and glowing. After I use this, my skin feels like it's glowing from the inside out, and it feels so healthy and happy. However, I do have a small confession - I don't actually use this as a cleansing balm anymore! The shea butter and avocado oils are too rich for my oily/combination skin, and after a week of daily use I find I get a couple of small pimples around my forehead and nose - areas I normally keep under control. The ingredients list has so many luxurious oils that I find this works best for me as a treatment mask. I'll use it maybe once or twice a week to really hydrate and revitalise my skin and it works like a miracle. I'd recommend this balm to anyone, although I would use it according to your skin type. Drier skins will probably find this an incredible daily balm which adds instant moisture and glow to your complexion. As a treatment for oiler skin, it deep cleans your pores whilst also providing that hydration and plumpness we all love.

The Suti Cleansing Balm with Organic Cotton Muslin Cloth - £28

This isn't a cheap skincare option, but is definitely worth the money in my opinion. There are cheaper balms available but I don't feel they add as much to your skin as this one does. It doesn't just cleanse, it gives you a radiant glow and is full of beautiful ingredients that nourish and protect the skin.

Have you tried Suti products? Do you have any favourites? I have my eye on their rose water as well as their face oils.

  4. Looking really nice but it sounds a bit rich. The oils used in this balm doesnt seem to be very suitable to oily skins though.
